Developed for youngsters 6 years and under, Kids First Hockey consists of four sessions designed to provide "first time to the rink" players with no previous skating experience basic instruction in skating and the sport of hockey.
Please note - Children already participating or have participated in a Skating Department program are not eligible for Kids First Hockey.
- THE SESSION IS LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
- THERE IS NO CHARGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM.
- PARTICIPANTS ARE LIMITED TO ONE (3 WEEK) SESSIONS.
Polar Ice House - Grapevine provides all management, coaches, equipment and rental skates as well as coordinates all aspects of Kids First Hockey.
At the first session, parents will leave a $200 deposit (credit card or checks accepted) for use of equipment. Deposit will only be cashed/charged if equipment is not returned in good condition at the end of the final session.
Kids should come early so they can get dressed and be ready to go on the ice when each session begins.
At the first session the players receive:
- Equipment bag
- Helmet
- Shin guards
- Hockey pants
- Elbow pads
- Shoulder pads
- Gloves
- Stick
- Jersey
Kids may bring their own skates or use rental skates that will be provided free of charge.
Please note - The starter equiptment provided to each Kids First participant must be retuned as it will be used for future programs.
